As part of the process to develop Your Voice, Your Town in Hanwell, in February 2025, residents, businesses, faith and community organisations were invited to participate in a workshop (held in the Hanwell Community Centre). Together people shared their project ideas and their thoughts on what ‘feeling safe’ means to them individually and then for their community.
Working together, the groups created a series of ‘collective statements’ to help shape how Your Voice, Your Town Hanwell could take action to help make Hanwell feel safe for everyone who lives, works or visits here. These collective statements have been used by Hanwell’s Town Team, to help set the criteria for future community-led projects. They are not exhaustive but provide great insights about what matters most to local residents and communities.
If you are inspired by the collective statements and want to apply to the Feeling Safe in Hanwell – Community Grants Fund.
