We are proud to be supported by Ealing Council’s Your Voice, Your Town (YVYT) programme for this year’s Hanwell Hootie, West London’s largest free one-day music festival. With a clear focus on keeping people safe, this funding is enabling us to deliver a festival that is not only vibrant and community-led, but carefully designed to prioritise safety, wellbeing, and inclusion for all. Spanning multiple venues across Hanwell, the Hootie brings the whole town together, and alongside this funding, we are working closely with Ealing Council’s Events Team and Safety Advisory Group to coordinate and strengthen a joined-up, partnership-led approach to safety across the day.
This investment has allowed us to significantly enhance our safety infrastructure across the entire event, not just within individual venues but across Hanwell as a whole. We are working with specialist, festival-trained security teams who prioritise visibility, approachability, and de-escalation, creating a calm and reassuring presence throughout the day. These teams will be actively moving across the town, supporting venues, engaging with the public, and ensuring a coordinated, responsive approach. Alongside this, we have strengthened our medical provision with on-site clinicians, a mobile unit, and emergency response support, enhanced communication systems and response coordination, and improved infrastructure including signage, fencing, and clearly managed spaces.
A key addition this year is our dedicated Safe Space, located within the Information Tent, a private, calm and supportive environment where anyone can speak to a trained member of the team, take time out, and access guidance or further support if needed. Whether providing reassurance, practical help, or connection to wider services, this space ensures there is always somewhere to turn. Together, these measures reflect our commitment to delivering a festival that not only brings people together through music, but does so in a way that is safe, supportive, and rooted in care for the whole community. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the Saturday 9th May 2026!
