Flowerbeds in Goldsmith Avenue

Ongoing Project

There are two large flowerbed planters in Goldsmith Avenue on the approach to the steps over the railway track. They are in a gloomy corner, flanked by two dark, looming walls, one with a mural.

They have been maintained by local residents as and when people have time – sometimes the flowerbeds look glorious, other times rather sad and forgotten.

There is a lot of footfall along Goldsmith Avenue – people going to work, to school, walking their dogs and so on. And people going up and over the steps to get to Perryn Road and beyond.  So the flowerbeds have a large, regular audience.

I hope to improve the planting to make the beds lighter, brighter and with some sort of interest all year round.
