Read and play games with primary school child online

As a volunteer you’ll get to read 1:1 with a child between 5 and 11 years old. ​

• Your first reading programme will be booked and managed through our Volunteer Hub. We can support with booking your first programme.​
• Your first programme will run for 6 weeks in line with school timetables, and you can choose to continue after that (many of our volunteers do!). ​

• We provide you with all the training, resources, books and literacy games you’ll need to help your pupil grow their enjoyment of reading, as well as their confidence.​

• There’s no set structure you have to follow, so feel free to be led by the interests of the child.

• The majority of our programmes are online. The key benefit to online is that it gives you maximum flexibility to help a child from the comfort of your own home.​

• All you need is a laptop or tablet and a stable internet connection!​
• We use a bespoke video calling platform, which works much like any other teams or zoom call you might have used, but it also has 100s of books and resources pre-loaded into it that you can explore with your pupil.
