Welcome to Your Voice, Your Town Northolt

About Northolt

Northolt is renowned for its vibrant community spirit, with local residents coming together to enjoy green spaces like Northala Fields and participate in activities such as the weekly Northolt Parkrun and inclusive initiatives from organisations like Get Hooked on Fishing. The Visions for Northolt approach further highlight this sense of community by engaging hundreds of people—including businesses, young people, and groups such as Urban Edible Gardens—to collaboratively shape the area’s future while celebrating Northolt’s unique cultural heritage.

How do Northolt Town Team work together

The Northolt Town Team met to decide how they wanted to work together.  They established a set of ways of working that shape how they work as a team.

  • Democratically – In an open, honest and transparent manner, sharing conflict of interest where it exists.
  • By contributing and collaborating – Ensuring everyone feels welcome and included, takes ownership for participation, encourage teamwork, offer assistance and celebrate milestones.
  • Respect each other – Listen actively and attentively, avoid interrupting, value each member’s input and perspective, respect privacy of discussions and maintain confidentiality where and when needed. Disagree without conflict.
  • Accountable – Follow through on commitments;  participate actively. Be accountable financially and for decision-making
  • Sustainably – Think about making lasting, impactful changes, and evaluate the outcomes
  • Inclusive – Reaching out to the community, making sure seldom heard voices are represented and we use what is available to us to keep people informed
  • Innovative – You can’t keep doing the same thing. Adapting and creating to meet changing needs. No duplication, look for new ideas

Being a Town Team member is a voluntary role and each member must sign up to a participation agreement

Northolt's town priority and community fund

Through a big engagement process in 2024 and 2025, local residents, businesses, faith and community organisation shared their insights about the brilliant things already happening in Northolt and their ideas to make things even better.  Through this process people voted making Northolt a ‘clean and pleasant area’ the top priority. They also shared what ‘clean and pleasant’ meant to them.

Over the last 6 months, Northolt’s Town Team, has taken the insights from this process, and created a local community fund to support great ideas big or small to respond to this priority.

Northolt Community ‘Genie’ Fund is the fun name for the community grant fund because we want to make community wishes become reality. We hope this is the start of something brilliant.

The Northolt Town Team wants to help Northolt become a place where everyone feels good, cared for and supported, by creating welcoming spaces which encourage unity, affordable connections and networks, so that everyone can feel truly included and proud to be part of Northolt.

Our Vision for Northolt: A town where people unite with care and kindness

“Northolt Town Team envisions a town where people feel good about living here, because we have the spaces and the people to support their well-being, make them feel looked after, protected and supported. To be a clean and pleasant town we have to build unity, where people can connect and create networks, to help people feel part of something, which would encourage people to care for Northolt. ”

Northolt has up to £40,000 to fund great ideas.

Applications for the community fund are now open and close on 23:59 18 December 2025.
