What kind of projects can be funded?

Hanwell’s Your Town Your Future Fund is particularly looking for projects that make a difference to at least one of the following priorities:

  • Help local people share knowledge and skills
  • Take action to make Hanwell greener and cleaner
  • Bring people together and increase connection, especially between different generations and age groups
  • Revitalise places and spaces in Hanwell

The fund is open to everyone in Hanwell, and we also want to particularly encourage ideas from young people in Hanwell who want to lead action on one of the priorities outlined. To support this, we will be working with local high schools, and also encourage young people and organisations that work with young people to apply.

How much funding is available?

Hanwell has up to £40,000 available for grants.

We have two pots of funding:

  • Smaller sparks grants of up to £1,000. These are intended to support visible community action
  • Larger grants of up to £6,000.

Projects must use the funding between February 2027 and December 2027.

Last year we supported 14 projects in Hanwell in total from 37 applications.

What can’t be funded?

We want to support a wide of range of ideas but funding cannot be used for:

  • projects that are not directly linked to the town’s priority
  • projects which do not support people or improve places in Hanwell
  • profit-making projects
  • political groups, or projects that are politically affiliated
  • the promotion of religion or religious activities
  • campaigning or lobbying activities
  • applicants applying for personal benefit
  • projects that exclude others on discriminatory grounds
  • costs that have already been incurred/spent

Projects must take place between February 2027 and December 2027.

Applications close at 1pm on Thursday 3rd December 2026
