Your Voice, Your Town is building on the community wealth that already exists in Acton. It’s bringing people, voluntary and faith groups, schools and businesses together to work on the issues that are most important to them. Local people were asked to vote for their important issue, or town priority, where they want to focus their skills, resources and funding.
The choices were Clean and Pleasant Area, Development, Housing, Feeling Safe, Green Spaces, Housing and Supporting Community Life.

The project involves community clean-up, organised litter picks, and embellishing green spaces. It aims to engage the whole of Acton in activities that look after parks and fixed areas like streets and parks.
The project will take place monthly on a fixed date. It requires WhatsApp groups, schools, Act One cinema, churches, council vehicles, and community support. Participation will be encouraged
This project involves establishing a fixed storefront for reuse, recycle, and repair, with pop-up managed skips for larger waste collection. It includes a refill centre for food, cosmetics, and household products, and workshops for electrical, clothes, bike repair, upcycling, recycling, clothes swaps, furniture repair, Terra cycle, book swap, and toy recycling.
The project is for Acton residents and will be located on Acton High Street. It requires managed booking, storefront, and funding. Participation will be encouraged through storefronts, social media, stakeholder engagements, and ward councillors.
The project focuses on cleaning up waterways and nature areas in local parks, creating educational spaces for Acton schools, and establishing positive connections between parks like Acton Park and Southfield Recreation Grounds. It aims to revamp local wildlife habitats and green the edges.

It is for residents and businesses across Acton. It requires multi-stakeholder working groups, residents, schools, council, and businesses. The project aims to connect individuals, groups, agencies, and services to promote involvement, participation, and purpose. It provides support for ideas, initiatives, and projects. The target audience includes volunteers, residents, street associations, and potential volunteers.
The project will be hosted on the council’s do something good digital community hub platform and will take place when ideas and timing are right. It requires connections into WhatsApp groups, parents’ associations, and communication connections champions. Participation will be encouraged through digital platforms like WhatsApp, streaming, and associations for women or mothers.

Acton Town and its neighbourhoods of Acton Vale, Acton Green, Park Royal, Bedford Park, North, East, South and West Acton are in the east of the borough. Acton is a bustling town with a mix of residential, commercial, and green spaces.
One of Acton’s standout landmarks is Acton Park, a large park that brings people together by offering walking paths, sports facilities, and the base for the annual Acton Carnival organised by the charity ARTification.
Many different aspects of the town’s history have been researched, recorded and promoted for many years by enthusiasts in the Acton History Group. The town’s industrial heritage is also evident at the London Transport Museum Depot, home to an extensive collection of historic vehicles and equipment from London’s transportation history.
Acton’s heart really shines through its people, who bring diverse cultures and stories from all over the world. The town is home to Japanese, Arab, European, Caribbean and African heritage communities, and their influence can be seen in local shops and food markets, and as you view its arts and culture with the town having its very own mural trail covering renowned street art pieces across its neighbourhoods.
During the workshop, local residents shared their knowledge of Acton and the diverse activities they participate in. This exchange fostered a deeper sense of connection among attendees, both with each other and with their community of Acton.
