Reading Coaches-Read Easy Ealing
Read Easy helps adults who need support with reading. We know that 7% of adults in Ealing can’t read or struggle with everyday reading, and we’re passionate about transforming more lives in the community through our proven, confidential programme of free, one-to-one, volunteer-led adult reading coaching.
We are specifically looking for reading coaches in Northolt, Greenford, South Harrow and Southall
Initial coach training will be provided- this comprises 2 half day sessions delivered over zoom. A further day’s training is provided once the coach/ reader has completed the first part of the reading programme. We offer continued support throughout the reader/ coach journey via our coordinators, literary specialist and coach meetings. We also provide our coaches with resources to enhance their coaching

Essential Skills
- An ability to talk and listen to the person you coach in a patient, positive, encouraging and purposeful way;
- A non-judgemental attitude and a positive respect for others, regardless of abilities, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation or age;
Desirable Skills
- An ability to focus on your Reader and his or her needs;
- An ability to work alone, seeking support when necessary;
- The ability and confidence to work on a computer and access documents online, or the willingness to learn to do so.
