Specialist Social Club for Children with Autism and ADHD in Hanwell

Ongoing Project

Stepping Stones Together is a specialist social club supporting children with Autism and ADHD in Hanwell and the surrounding community during term time.

Our project provides a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children can build confidence, improve social skills, and receive positive behaviour support through fun and engaging activities. Sessions include arts and crafts, sensory play, creative activities, games, group interaction, and structured social activities tailored to the needs of children with SEND.

The club supports children who may struggle in mainstream settings by providing smaller group activities and specialist support from experienced staff who understand Autism and ADHD. We focus on helping children develop communication, emotional regulation, independence, and friendships in a positive and welcoming setting.

Our aim is to reduce social isolation, improve wellbeing, and give children the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy meaningful experiences with their peers.

Families can get involved by registering their child for sessions, volunteering, or supporting community activities that promote inclusion for children with additional needs.

How you can help

Volunteers and community support are vital to the success of Stepping Stones Together. Many children with Autism and ADHD face social isolation and barriers to accessing inclusive activities, which is why having caring and supportive people involved in our project makes a meaningful difference to both the children and their families. By volunteering with us, individuals can help create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where children feel understood, supported, and encouraged to build confidence and social skills through fun activities such as arts and crafts, games, and group interaction. We welcome members of the local community, parents, students, and professionals who would like to make a positive impact. No previous experience is necessary, as full training and ongoing support will be provided by our team. Volunteers will gain valuable skills and knowledge in supporting children with SEND, including Autism and ADHD, positive behaviour support, communication strategies, and inclusive practice. Community support, donations, and volunteering will help us continue expanding our sessions, reaching more families, and creating opportunities for children to develop friendships, improve wellbeing, and feel included within their local community. We are also looking to work with creative arts practitioners, activity leaders, and local organisations who would like to deliver engaging workshops and activities for our children. This could include arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, sports, sensory activities, or wellbeing sessions that encourage creativity, confidence, and social interaction in an inclusive environment.
