Project Idea
Northolt Rugby Club is a community sports club dedicated to promoting sport, inclusion, and local engagement for people of all ages and backgrounds. While rugby remains at the heart of our club, we are also home to Gaelic Football for men, women, and youth teams, a children’s football club, a puppy training service, and an events food service operating from our grounds. Our club is run by volunteers, coaches, players, supporters, and community partners who work together to create opportunities and activities that benefit the wider local community. This project is being organised by the club alongside local businesses, charities, and community groups to create a welcoming event that brings people together.
We are organising a community open day at Northolt Rugby Club, inviting local businesses, charities, sports clubs, and community organisations to showcase their services and activities. The event will include exhibition stalls, family-friendly activities, sports demonstrations, food, entertainment, and opportunities for residents to connect with local organisations. Our aim is to create an inclusive event that encourages participation from all sections of the community while promoting stronger local partnerships.
We want to deliver this project because we believe strong community connections improve wellbeing, inclusion, and local engagement. Many organisations and businesses do valuable work but often have limited opportunities to reach new people or work together. This event will provide a positive and accessible space where residents can discover local opportunities, access support services, meet new people, and feel more connected to the community.
We are most excited about bringing people together and creating a positive event for the local area. Seeing families, businesses, charities, and community groups interacting in one place is something we are proud to support. We are also excited to introduce new people to the club and encourage ongoing community involvement and partnerships beyond the event itself.
Local businesses, charities, and community groups can get involved by hosting a stall or activity during the open day. Residents can attend, take part in activities, and help spread awareness within the community. We also welcome volunteers to assist with setup, organisation, and running activities throughout the event. Supporters and businesses can also help through sponsorship or by providing resources to help make the event successful and accessible to everyone.
