Family Activities

  • Seed to Juice workshops

This year we are excited to offer Seed to Juice workshops for children. Thanks to support from the Mayor’s Community Weekend fund we are delighted to hold workshops throughout the day where children can learn the life cycle of an apple tree in one of our orchards. Through storytelling, exploring and having a go, we’ll learn how our trees grow, how the apples get turned into juice and which animals benefit along the way!

Sessions will run every hour, starting from 11.30, they last for approx 30 mins, suitable for children aged 5-11. Places are limited, sign up for a session at the Horsenden World stand when you arrive on the day.

  • Family fun in the woodland workshop

Venture down to our new woodland workshop area for fun for all the family. We will have crafts, apple bobbing, apple quiz and face-painting.

  • Food and Drink

Hayloft Café:  We will have our usual excellent selection of homemade cakes – all lovingly baked by our volunteers. As well as jacket potatoes and hot & cold soft drinks.

Courtyard BBQ: Burgers and Sausages sourced from local butcher, the Hook & Cleaver.

Horsenden Loaf: Woodfired pizzas, sweet and savoury treats, gourmet coffees and fancy drinks!

Perivale Brewery:  (From 12noon) Our on-site brewery serving a selection of  beers, from the traditional (Veri Pale pale ale) to the unusual (Knot Welcome, Japanese knot weed sour).

The Dodo:  A guest appearance from The Dodo micropub, Hanwell serving a selection of craft beers and their very own rum and gin.

Craft Fair

Plus after all that shopping you can stop in for  a relaxing hand massage before carrying your bags home!

The wonderful world of compost!

Our on-site compost experts will be on hand with their microscopes to show you the wonderful world of micro-organisms that live in our soil.

They will also be running a composting workshop to share the secrets of creating ‘black gold’.  Details to follow.
