Now that summer is gone and the milder autumn days are here, it’s time to get back to daytime activity. We’ll be doing a bit of an autumn clean in preparation for the winter days ahead. We’ll take out the remaining willowherb in our meadow and using it to make some dead hedges for all the invertebrate life that will soon be looking for places to hibernate. The tree nursery needs clearing from the bindweed and willowherb as well, so the trees will be ready to put on fresh growth come spring. We’ll also be sanitising our bird feeders and stocking them up as they will no doubt be in demand in the months ahead.
